Bewitched by DotS

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one writing about Descendants of the Sun’s review recently. This Korean drama is successfully aired in not only in Korea but also in China, Japan, Asean, and Australia. The most unforgettable one was the one who dragged and maybe you can say forced me to watch this drama is not a girl who are usually go crazy at Korean Drama but they are boys in my college. They just didn’t know who is the actor or actress but they just said that the story is so perfectly good. What will you do if your male friend introduced the kind of Korean drama for you instead of female friend usually? You maybe will do like I did. I try to watch it after I’ve promised to myself to stop watching Korean drama in my life.

So this is my first time to go crazy with the Korean drama while the drama was not ended yet so I just got excited yet enjoyed the nervousness during the film airing. The sensation of guessing the film ending, whether it’s going to be happy or sad ending, what will happen with the main actor, etc. 

The story is about the romantic love story between special force of Korea and famous doctor in Korea. I guess it is the first time of story line like this. The main actor is Song Joong Ki and the main actress is Song Hye Kyo. If you know Running Man and Full house so I’m really sure you’re already familiar with these famous stars. I noticed Joong Ki as the flower boy who is totally cute in Sungkyunkwan Scandal that he was cute scholars who have unique hobby like twisting his movement in front of the girl. But once you start to see his role in DotS, you will see he is totally different, maybe because he just deployed from Korean military force. He is bold, cool, manly and gentle. It is same with Hye Kyo. If you still remember what she was looks like in Full House as the clumsy girl who careless and short minded, she transformed into great doctor who is totally generous, perfectionist, bold, and brave. It can’t help but so fallen in love with both Captain Yoo Si Jin and Doctor Kang Mo Yoen. Their love is perfectly beautiful and pure.

Uniquely, their love has already grown up in the 1st episode. They notice to love each other but due to their different principle, job and path to be followed, they should break up. During the story, there were 3 times of their break up. But the faith is still being theirs. Because the volunteerism activity in another country, they meet again. Because the incident with Arab president operation they care each other, because the huge earthquake their love was growing, because the dangerous disease they realize to rely on each other, because of the villain they save life each other, and etc. Many difficulties come in their path but these made their love sense stronger than before. When the other couple say thanks to pick their couple up to the restaurant or celebrate the birthday or take their couple go home, they have different way to say thanks. They say thanks to save the life each other.

Not only about their love story solemnly but there are a lot of sweet couple such as Seo Dae Young and Yoon Myeoung Joo, Dr Song and Nurse Ha, Ye Hwa and Dr. Daniel. They have their own problem and they have their own way to solve.

That’s not about the love story only. I learned many moral values that are strongly will be taken to make myself better. From the story I see how patriotism and nationalism work on the citizen of the country, how the doctor pledge their status to help everyone need, how to be consistent, never cowardly, be a good role model to surrounding, be gentle, and survive even though in the very difficult path we are.

I am not surprised this drama reached the highest rating in the last 4 years for Korean drama industry and got many appreciations from many viewers until the prime minister of Thailand want to meet Song Joong Ki as Captain Yoo. For every touch and emotion in each episode, I give two thumbs up for the scriptwriter, producer, actors and actress and all of the team of DotS. I’m so much satisfied with this drama. :)
